Boot up problem

  Freestyler 14:54 04 May 2003

I have just built a PC using a Gigabyte GX-7VA M/B
And a mentor GeForce 4 64mb Graphics card (8x).Athlon XP 1800 Processor
The problem is when I boot up I get vertical thin white lines on the POST screen, when Windows XP pro starts up the logo has vert coloured broken lines on it. after trying to load the monitor switches to S/by altough the computer remains on. If Windows does actually finish loading, when I click on my account (or any) it again causes the moniter to go to S/by. At first this was an intermittant fault, now permenant. If I go into Bios on boot up screen is fine (no lines)any Ideas.

Try reseating the graphics card and check both ends of the cable are fully connected.
