Boot up on LAN

Trying to set up a wifi network, but when I enable Lan onboard in my bios my system will not boot.
I have tried using a pci ethernet card also, but this has the same effect.??

Running an ASrock K7vt2 mobo with win 2000 o/s.

Soon as I disable Lan onboard or take out the pci card system will boot normally,

Are there any settings in Win 2000 I need to enable boot from Lan??

stumped as to why i cannot boot.

Cheers. R
