Lenovo Deapad BIOS seems not to allow 'boot from CD but does from USB
BIOS is accesssed via a button on side oof the machine and can be used to start from 'cold'
I wish to make it dual boot with a Linux distro.
To archive this boot from disk is required
I have also put the file on USB, but has not so far worked
Any thoughts please
Press the power button, you should see a Lenovo splash screen.
Press F12 and a boot menu will pop up.
Select your CD/DVD drive and press Enter.
I think he means an "IdeaPad".
Some/all models dont seem to have a DVD drive.
Fruit Bat /bris
The machine is indeed an Ideaspad
There is an optical CD/DVD drive(plus 1tb HDD +25gb SSD 18gb RAM--etc,)
Pressing f12 does bring up a BIOS window just as the 'side button mentioned
No 'boot from CD option is there the f12 lists 3 network options.
So as boot from USB is there ,copied CD to ussb.
Simply copying cd to usb will not make usb bootable. Google for a usb writer program to create a bootable usb stick.
