Booking Form?

I am only a basic webmaster who uses Frontpage 2003.

I would like to include a page on my Scout Website where my Scouts can add their names to a list. Is this easy to do?

My experience so far is creating simple pages, albeit with fade in and inline frames etc then uploading them to my host etc so please be gentle.

I suppose like everything else, it's easy if you know how! If your host supports php you could have responses from a simple form written to a text file and then displayed as a list on a dynamic page..

Not difficult to do, but very difficult to explain how to do!

Thanks, do I need to learn about php then? or is it called something else.

I written a very simple version of what I think it is you want. You can see (and test it) at

I have zipped the code for you to download.

If you need any further explanations-post back.

Hope it helps!

I absolutely agree fourm member but the propose of this was to get [email protected] going with php.

I have also found that open forms on the web are found by spammers and I'ts not long before your guestbook or similar is advertising Viagra or worse!

Thanks harristweed.

Very interesting but a bit on the complex side for me at the moment. I have found some online training which has helped me understand what is written in the code you have done, however it is probably something I am going to do at my leisure before putting anything on the net.

Fortunately I have also found createforms.com where you can build such things on someone elses server and just link to it from your own website. This also adds some styling and format etc and creates a small database that can be downloaded. So I shall give that a go whilst I learn more about php.

Thanks again
