Blue Error Screen

  degssie 14:23 29 Jun 2008

I have done a search and did not find anything that matches my problem so here goes-
Dell Dimension E520. Service Pack2. Pentium 2.8Gb. 3 Gb memory. Radion X1300 graphics with 256 Mb.

I use AVG free antivirus and Spyware Doctor. They both appeared to show that I had been infected with a number of Trogans that were then show as cleared. Now if I leave the computer for 5-10 minutes a blue screen appears and my computer restarts back to the blue screen. Rach time it shows a different message ( Bogus-driver, bad-pool-header, IRLQ thingy, etc) but if I hit a key get back to the what I had on to start with such as the internet page I had been viewing. It is almost behaving like a screen saver but I have never had one set and can not find the tab to set a screen saver or a wall paper which I thought was in the "Properties" box when you right clicked the desk top.
I did update my graphics driver but then rolled back because it did not make any difference.
Please help as this is driving me potty.

right click on an empty spot of the desktop screen and then properties. Centre top tab is screen saver. If it is set to none then the thing is somewhere else. Try start - run and type msconfig - then the top right tab is startup and you can see if there is a tick in anything that you do not want to run.

I have checked the "properties" with the right click on the desktop and no option for setting screensaver is shown just "Windows & Buttons", "Color Scheme" & "Font Size".
I have checked the start-up menue for unwanted programs.
I think it may have something to do with the Trojan.Gaslide.B Virus. Any help on that, all I can find is that Skyware Doctor can remove it which is what I have got and it does appear to have removed it but has it left behined the changes it made?
