Hi - in msconfig there's something which doesn't have an entry in either the Start up item column or the Command column. The rest of the line is HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer...

How do I know what it is to see if I need it?

Thanks

Un-tick it in the start up program. And see if it causes any problems. You can always re-tick it later.

I suppose I could have done that, but what if it's something vital?

If it was vital it wouldn't be blank. Disabling it won't stop your computer booting into Windows successfully. In addition the MSConfig window often isn't big enough to see the whole entry. Use this instead; click here
Restore the item from the Deleted tab if required (which is unlikely).

It is probably something that has already been deleted but not completely.
