BitDefender Management Console

My security (Zone Alarm) has recently started to warn me about the above programme "trying to open privileged information" I have no idea what BitDefender is - or how it came to be knocking at my door! Can anyone shed some light, please?

Bit Defender is an Anti Virus software suite. You may have "inadvertently" installed it on your PC at some point - free trial perhaps ? Zone Alarm is no doubt "doing its job" Have a look in your add/remove programs list to see if it is there - if so uninstall.

I've looked in add/remove - - done a "search" of "My Computer - all files and folders etc etc" -looked in my "Revo Uninstaller" program- but no trace found of BitDefender! It doesn't appear to be listed anywhere on my system!

If you are confident with the "Registry" have a look there - if anything relating to Bit Defender is in there delete it - otherwise it may just be Zone Alarm throwing up a "False" one.

For the registry - start - run - type regedit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software (Expand) scroll down to see if anything relating to "Bit Defender" - if there - right click - choose "delete"

Looked in the registry - as you indicated - but still no sign of BD. I guess you must be right about ZA. I clicked on ZA's alert warning to always deny BD access - so I'll maybe not have further problems! Thanks again for your advice!
