What exactly does Bit Defender do and do I run it auto or manual.

The full version is a pretty good security package, the freebie is a gutted version of an older program and as they themselves state "best used in a system recovery or forensics role" if your incumbent AV software has failed in some way. If you're looking for a decent free AV with real time cover then try almost anything else.

Thanks guys I think I will look elsewhere for a better Antivirus than Bit Defender.

Avast is probably the best specified of the free ones.

If you want the best protection, you'll need to pay.

Personally I recommend NOD32 anti-virus, or the full Eset Security suite.
