I have recently upgraded my P4 socket 478 CPU from 2 Ghz to 2.8 ghz, the computer runs fine most of the time, but once in a while i get a BSOD and upon reboot, the windows error report suggest that i upgrade my BIOS because the fault is related to some component changes i have done. I went to the MSI live update site and checked for an update, but it says my BIOS is the latest version (dated 14/02/2003 ver 1.5).
My motherboard specs allow me to fit up to 3.06 ghz CPU providing it is 533Mhz bus speed max, which it is.
The memory test did not reveal anything, but i found a faulty memory slot on the motherboard, i moved the memory, so i have 1gb in bank1 and a 1gb in bank3, what a difference! it loads up really fast now.
Thanks for your help
