BIOS update?

im about to install an extra hard drive Western Digital Caviar 300GB 8Mb Cache 7200RPM. XP SP2

will i need to update my BIOS -if so how?

and whats the best software for file management?

There's no need to update the BIOS. Your BIOS should automatically recognise the new drive. If you go to the WD web site you should find software optimised for your new drive.

update the BIOS unless you have to. Any problem with the update process can render your motherboard effectively useless. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
