im about to install an extra hard drive Western Digital Caviar 300GB 8Mb Cache 7200RPM. XP SP2will i need to update my BIOS -if so how?and whats the best software for file management?thanksn
There's no need to update the BIOS. Your BIOS should automatically recognise the new drive. If you go to the WD web site you should find software optimised for your new drive.
The software you need is Data Lifeguard Tools 11.2 for Windows click here.
update the BIOS unless you have to. Any problem with the update process can render your motherboard effectively useless. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
thanks - ihave the software and im pleased i wont have to update the BIOSn
