Bios and soundcard

  numcy 11:29 17 Sep 2007

I own a Dell Dimension 5150 for my sins and have recently had to have a new motherboard fitted under warranty. It arrived back last week minus any sound. Now, I am loathe to contact Dell again as they were pretty much useless and the company who collected and fixed (?) it seem the same. Any ideas as to why I have no sound. I have done the obvious such as leads, trying another slot for sound card etc. I have been told by a colleague the Bios may not be set up on the new motherboard for my card but I know that to mess with this could cause more problems. Any help or ideas much appreciated.
