i am a little confused my pc has an agp geforce mx 440 agp 128mb card the pc was stuttering abit after a look at some threads i checked the card in the bios only to see the graphics aptitue is set to pci with an 8mb memory alotted why is this the only other option is agp/onboard graphics which only has two options for video memory which are 8mb and 512mb. why is is set to pci if my graphics card is agp will this make any difference with my graphics on the pc .

set it to agp / 512mb and see if it makes a difference?

what mobo do you have?

The stuttering may not be anything to do with this as I presume you haven't altered the settings, that aside you should change it to AGP and see what memory settings are there and set it to 128 if you can.

the agp apt doesn`t have a 128 setting only 8mb and 512mb in the bios. the screen settings under advanced the gforce card is showing 128mb x4 agp bus

found a manual for your board but it doesn't go into the bios options, so I'm none the wiser. It has a 4x AGP slot, and warns it only takes 1.5v cards, not the older 3.3v 1x and 2x cards. I'll be back in a min when I've had a look in my bios; I have an MSI board and a 64mb MX440 card

OK, mine has:

Primary graphics adapter: AGP (pci)

AGP timing control:
AGP mode: Auto (1x, 2x, 4x)
AGP fast write: disabled (enabled)
AGP aperture size: 128mb (4,8,16,32,64,256)

Any help???
