big black ad?

Running 2 PCs, one XP, other Win 7, both IE8, both using IE7Pro.

On the Win7 machine, when I go between PCA forums, Helproom, then to Consumerwatch, for example, I get a large ad in the middle of the screen (no details of what the ad is), then top right, 'skip this ad', which I cannot click.
After maybe 20 seconds it disappears, then into the respective forum.

I have no such problems with the XP machine.

Anyone have any ideas please for sorting this out?

Using W/7 IE8 and using IE7Pro I get no problems going between Forums.

Maybe make sure it is in compatibility mode and see if that makes any difference.

. . . an ad blocker on the XP PC (you may have forgotten about it) stopping the advert?

Alternatively, are cookies blocked on the W7 PC? The PCA cookie will remember your visit and block the ad once seen (every 24 hours) but if cookies are disabled you will keep seeing it each time.

I compared settings on IE8 and IE7Pro and changed a few things. Didn't work initially, but then I pressed the 'block' button on IE7Pro. Lo and behold, all sorted. Not quite sure what the solution was though. Thnx to you all anyway.

plus I noticed bottom left of IE8 it said done with errors. These were listed:

They also seemed to affect operations of IE8 which kept telling me it needed to close.

I've added the above to Restricted Sites via Tools in IE8, and it seems to have cured the issue.

didn't mean to add 'click here' items, and suggest they are not 'clicked'.
