Is this possible for this price ? It is only to be used for internet and e-mail.

To get wireless built in for that price would prove difficult, you could always buy a laptop and install a wireless pcmcia card such as the example below:

This click here combined with click here would get a laptop with wireless capabilities for your budget leaving you a fiver spare change after delivery.

Pcmcia cards are generally a fairly neat and tidy solution to wirelessly enabling a laptop that doesn't have it built in.

If you can stretch to £430, this toshiba comes with wireless built in click here

It's just so much easier and more reliable - especially for novices - if it has built-in Wifi.

The best is an Acer 3003 lc its a fantastic wireless laptop at a rock bottom price

  De Marcus™ 21:43 05 Mar 2006

The Acer doesn't come with wireless built in does it?

At least not according to ebuyer or Acers uk website.

3003 WLMi is a lot more money, at just over £500.

  ade.h 22:03 05 Mar 2006

Posted prematurely; was going to add that the WLMi seems to be the cheapest wireless Acer, barring any review specials that may be available from time to time.

The basic LC is not wireless enabled.

What about this one - click here

I would not be confident of saying for sure that that model is actually wireless, despite the description, because Acer wireless models normally have a W in the suffix.

Compare it against the details on the Acer site to be sure.

Personally, I would go with the Toshiba that De Marcus found for you.
