My old PC has died and i am thinking of making a new purchase. However i am unsure as to what site i should buy from, looking for a company with good customer service.

So far i have found Eclipse Computers, Overclockers and MESH.

Are there any other comprehended companies?

Thank You :)

I've been told that Dell are not worth buying from, hence why i've opted for a custom build. My budget is £700

"I've been told that Dell are not worth buying from"

In which case, you're listening to the wrong people.

On a few forums, i've read that they provide "cheap" products (motherboard, memory etc.) at a higher cost. Which in my opinion is not worth it.

You have been listening to half-wits, Dell are excellent.

Been reading that a few members of this forum have recommended Cougar Extreme.

I'll probably post specifications in a new thread.

Hi, I thought i'd PM you about the topic i created (click here) A member on said the following about Dell. "the graphics cards they'll sell you are underperforming entry level cards, god forbid he ever tries to play a game on them the system wont be upgradable thanks to the "bare minimum" approach to their specifications the motherboard will be a cheap OEM product the PSU will be underpowered the memory will be as cheap as possible" This has really persuaded me to opt for a custom build, i want a gaming PC which can play Medieval Total War, Doom3, Left 4 Dead. And on medium settings, if possible Crysis, Far Cry 2 etc. In addition the PC will also be used to watch HD content, split/cut and convert video files (including HD) All that for just over £700 including a monitor. This is just not possible on dell, the price would be too expensive. I have created good packages on (however not sure of their customer service) Just wondering if you could help me out, as the last computer which i bought had a lot of problems. Want the new one to last at least 4 years. thanks :)

Do NOT e-mail Forum members unless invited to do so.

I'm unable to comment on your remarks as I don't use my Dell machines to play games. I'm rather more advanced than that.

I will add though that, having had many Dell PCs and laptops over the years, I've never had any problems with them.

click here wouldn't use any other for a custom machine.
