Best gaming mobo/cpu/gfx setup for £400?

  Radico 17:15 19 Apr 2008

My current PC is seriously outdated and I plan to build a new system soon. I'll reuse some parts to save on money so all I need to buy is motherboard, processor, RAM, graphics card and hard drive (had in mind a Western Digital 160GB 7200rpm 8MB Cache).

My budget for the above is £400 maximum, and I'd like to build the best gaming system I can. What should I go for?

Thanks very much.

You will probably need a larger power supply if you want to increase graphics.

It may be worth looking here as to prices etc.

Ah yes that's what I forgot - plan to get a silent PSU, but what wattage would be required?

Have been looking at ebuyer mainly - wouldn't want to buy from novatech due to past troubles!

I've bought from Novatech for years, only had one problem.

That was sorted under warranty, and always received good help and advice from them.

Cheers for that citadel - not too important, but can I run two graphics cards with that mobo?
