Best free or paid for Firewall ?

Looking for a new firewall to use with Windows XP - discovered that the Windowns version is very bad ! - any suggetions for which is best ?

I'm running Avast Home if that helps. Thanks

In addition to what anskyber has said, Comodo is also very good and free click here
I alternate between ZA and Comodo, both of which are free.

Will go along with Anskyber, Having tried the two of them, I would pick Kerio.And having tried Comodo,I would still pick Kerio.That is about 3 of the best all good, But just my choice,

Hi, I use the paid for version of Kerio, about the best in my humble opinion.

PS - if you go for the Free version of Kerio, you will actually get the Full version for the first 30days, thereafter it reverts automatically to the Free version - unless of course you opt to pay for it.

If you decide to go for Kerio.Unles you know what you are doing, You get the choice of Advanced Or normal, I would shift the dot to normal,

once installed it try's to stop everything and then you have to allow or deny. you will be suprised how many programs ask you for a connection.
