Good Morning.

I have recently bought a Belking G wireless router. I have a desktop attached to a Telewest (Virgin) phonline using a Motorola surfboard cable modem (old). At first I couldn't connect the router as the USB cord in the back off the computer didn't attach to the cable slots in the back of my router. So i got a network cable from work and attached the router, modem and PC together using these cables. It could not find an internet connection at all, and when wired up, it wouldn't even let my PC on the net until I had unplugged the router. PLEEEAAASSE where am I going wrong ? Or do I need 'Modem Router' instead ?

Many thanks - Anticipating a reply.

Read this post and follow the instructions; click here

To access your Belkin's configuration pages go to the address bar in Internet Explorer and type

(replace h--p with http)

user and password are both

Check to see if your router has been given an IP address from the ISP. If it has, go to Control Panel/Network Connections, click Create A New Connection, choose connect to internet/set up connection manually/broadband that is always on.

Make sure your ethernet port is enabled too of course.
