I had the same situation recently, try turning off any firewalls for a start. Configure them when you get your network running. I do not suggest you need to do as I did, but I had to reinstall windows to sort things out.
grr...that didn't work (but thanks!). I can't get access to any of the wireless settings at all (firewalls or not), they are all grayed out. There's no green light lit up on the router itself under the wireless icon, and the setup is showing disabled - but there's no way to enable it!
