Belkin N+ 4 port - speed 1/4

  Morgus 22:13 08 Aug 2009

After an hour of eliminating the possibility of technical problems,Belkin Support, Maha, stated that the N+ model distributes 1/4 of your speed to any one PC connected wirelessly - EVEN IF ONLY ONE IS LOGGED IN. Makes no sense to me because three connected by cable get full speed.

If the tech's statementcorrect? I should have kept my inexpensive Netgear which gave full speed and not spent $100.+ for the Belkin.

Is this rep. 'all wet'?

What speed are you talking about the connect speed of the wireless system or the

broadband speed

With a hard wire system the Lan card connect at 100Mbps, the wireless system

connect between 0Mbps -54Mbps depending on the distance, amount and thickness of

walls, quality of signal etc

The normal connect speed on a laptop build in wireless card or USB adapter is 54Mbps

on older laptops with build in wireless cards the connect speed is 11Mbps

Using a build in normal wireless card or adapter to connect to a 108Mbps, 125Mbps,

300Mbps, wireless router will only connect at 54Mbps

You must buy a separate108Mbps, 125Mbps, 300Mbps, USB adapter or PCI card for

each wireless device you want to connect at that the higher speed.
