belkin highspeed notebook card

  do-gull 18:51 08 Dec 2006

I have a belkin card that states it is capable of speeds upto 125 mp.Now i only ever got 54mbs which was fast,However after a prob with my laptop I had to reinstall windows and all my drivers.
Now the belkin is running at 125 mbs but is a LOT slower than when it was only 54 mbs and i cannot work out how to revert it back to the 54.

Any idea's please?

Presume you will only get 125mb if you are using a compatible 125Mb router. Standard 802.11g is 54 MB nominal.

Don't have a hi-speed Belkin but have you tried the belkin Utility which should have installed in System Tray Select and Select Configure tab to see if there is an option to use 802.11 b/g only.

Thanks for the responce,I bought the router and card at the same time both belkin both 125 mbs.The utility does not give me the option to turn off high speed mode. However I have solved the problem by downloading the latest driver which puts me back to the FASTER 54mbs....... wierd????

Anyway THANKS AGAIN FreeCell.
