Belkin 7632 modem/router just failed

  grumpy-git 21:14 20 Jan 2008

Using my original usb modem at the moment.

The belkin unit has failed for some reason. Looks like no power getting to it - as there are no lights showing on it.

There is power at the socket where the mains plug/transformer for the Belkin modem is connected, and the power supply lead is in the back of the modem. So, in theory, power should be getting to the modem.

There is no fuse to check in the plug as it is a moulded unit.

Seems like something has "expired". Anything else I can try?

Is the transformer heating up when left plugged in, if not, it's possible the transformer has blown.

Mains adapter will have blown. i think they have lifetime warranty. click here

The transformer is cold, so that is probably where the fault is.

I will try & find my receipt from a couple of years ago & give Belkin a call.

I have had this problem several times. replaced my transformer about 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years. is this a common problem with router transformers?
