Being systematic

I have XP and am getting BSOD when online. When I look at the event viewer (system) I see many reported errors and warnings, including error IDs= 7023, 2505, 4321 and Rasman 20035) plus warnings ID=1003, 2054.

Up to now, I've tended to reply on trial and error and advice from this forum to fix particular problems. But this BSOD can be caused by 101 different things, so I need to gather as much information about the state of my system. Does anyone have a good system for systematically gathering information on possible problems.
For example, are the ID numbers the key to the problem. If so, where next?

An initial search on google for error ID 7023 indicates there might be a problem with your network(conflicting IP address, similar computer names)I will see what else it pulls in for the other numbers.

ID 7023 is odd coz both computers have different names. One is called evesham and the other has a dell code.

Is sandra worth buying?
