Beeping when playing games

  Famous Wolf 13:34 22 Apr 2006

My PC has started to beep intolerably when my family is playing games, particularly games such as SIMS 2. The PC is Windows XP, the graphics card is an ATI radeon 9200, 512MB memory and an intel P4.

I am guessing that the beeps are a code and mean that the PC is very unhappy about something but I have no idea what. Any ideas?

It could be a warning about overheating.

Take a look in the BIOS - press DEL at startup - and see if there is a message there.

Thanks for the tip. I have the PC booked in for a service and will get them to have a look

Sims 2 isnt that graphicaly intensive so i cant see it being overheating from the gfx card,

It might be that a fan has stopped working,
Or the air vents are blocked.

But if its going in for a service they should find and solve the problem,

I hope they sort it Famous wolf.
