Batteries for alarm.

I have a wireless house alarm that needs new batteries. 6xAAA, 4xAA and 4xD. The recommendation is for alkaline ones. I've seen the adverts for Duracell but is there an even better brand I haven't heard of? Does anyone have a favourite brand that they swear by?

stick with Duracell, they seem to run rabbits OK and their resource hungry little buggers....

I agree with Mat Alan. The only thing I'd add is - don't try to economise on the batteries.

I had a wireless alarm in my last house, and changing all the batteries was a fair amount of hassle. As cheap batteries invariably have a shorter life than pukka jobs, using cheapos would mean that you'd only have to go through the whole battery changing rigmarole again much sooner.
