Does anyone recommend a freeware Money / Quicken type programme? Only basic needs.

Sorry for the delay (hols), Mike and thanks for your suggestion of GNU cash. Had a look at GNU link but could not see any reference to compatibility with Vista. Also are you recommending running my finances purely from a USB stick rather than 'onboard'?

GNU cash does run on vista. I'm not suggesting you run off a usb drive, just pointing out it can be run that way
