Bad CMos

Help! My computer on start up tells me that I have a bad CMoS and gave me the option to press F1 to cancel or to enter set up, which I did. I noticed that the date and time were incorrect, so I changed that and saved it. The computer seems to be running fine, but when I tried to update my version of Spyboot it could not update some of the help files due to the bad CMoS.

Does anyone know what to do and if this is potentially serious???

Thanks guys!

Not serious - all it means is that the CMOS battery on the motherboard has failed.

They are a small, watch like battery and cost a couple of pounds in most local PC stores.

Thanks for the quick response. Will go home after work and see what kind of battery this is!!
