I have just bought a PC with XP (home edition) and find that there is no Backup and Restore Wizard to handle floppy discs. Is there any software I can download or buy that will do this ?

Its not available as default, why..god knows, so insert your XP disk and Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file to start a wizard that installs Backup:
CD-ROM Drive:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP
When the wizard is complete, click Finish.

I don't think you get cd's with XP these days, I didn't.

The Windows Backup is somewhat basic and you may be better with something designed for the job like PowerQuest's Drive Image or Norton Ghost.

BTW. Do I understand correctly that you want to restore to floppies? If so, I think you'll corner that market in them as WXP alone amounts to several gigabytes which is equivalent to an awful lot of floppies.
