backup files don't show names

My PC is partitioned "c" and "D".
I have just backed up my "C" drive to an external drive, using Paragon Backup.
When I checked the backup on the external drive, the files were all long digits with no original names. If I need to restore only some files, how do I know where to find them?
What I DO see is about 32 files, each one precisely 1.95G long, but no familiar file names.
Also, can I now reformat drive "C", without affecting the partitioned drive "D", and, assuming that I can eventually know what I am looking at, return some files back to drive "C"?

I'm not sure this is the answer but Is your external drive formatted FAT or NTFS? if it's formatted FAT it will not take a full backup file without splitting it.
I would suggest formatting to NTFS

Yes, I should have stated that in my posting. Both drives are NTFS.
I am surprised that I have not had a reply from Paragon, their support is very good, but they have not replied for some time regardinhg THIS particular problem.
Should I be able to "see" the file names?

Sorry I don't know,I have never used Paragon.
