I've been backing up for a year now - just exactly what am I backing up? And how & when do I access my backups? Nothing on the disk is very intelligible. Explanation please.

"I've been backing up for a year now - just exactly what am I backing up?"

I don't know - how could I possibly know?

If you tell us more about what program and settings you're using perhaps, some help may be feasible.

"...how & when do I access my backups?"

When? - when you need something from them.

How? - depends on the program you're using and how you're using it.

I've been using the automatic back up of my system onto CDs. Haven't a clue what I'm supposed to do with it or when. If my system crashed how do I reload all my stuff?
