I am trying to back up mydocs onto a bytestor 32Gb usb fash drive. Mydocs part size is currently 28Gb. When the transfer reaches 4Gb it stops and asks for another device to be inserted as the current one is full. Inspection of the flash drive indicates that it has only filled 4Gb. The format for the device is FAT. Any offers as to what can be done?
I did think that I had read that somewhere before but, I cannot find a way to change the flash drive to accept ntsf file system? I am currently using windows xp pro with all updates so knowledge of how to would be very welcome.
Not used XP for a while but if I remember correctly, connect the flash drive, go to My Computer, right click the usb flash drive and select 'format'. In the pane that opens, select NTFS as the file system. I prefer to untick the box for quick format, then select format.
