Backdoor.SdBot.Myx Trojan Horse

Anyone know how to remove this Trojan from my laptop?
Can't access Task Manager to see processes, regedit not working (from 'run') and AVG (updated) keeps detecting previosuly healed/deleted virus.
Any ideas please?

Download hijackthis. Run a system scan and save a log file.

click here for info on posting the log file on an appropriate site.

Whilst this is being looked at, turn off system restore and run following programs.

Spybot Search and Destroy

do a google search for the programs which are free..

After running them, reboot and enable system restore.

Good Luck

Please do not turn off system restore, if you do that then you will lose all your restore points. Should something awful happen then you will not be able to roll back. Once you have your computer cleaned up then you can flush your restore points and create a fresh clean one.

It's better to have an infected restore point to roll back to than no restore point at all.
