Back-up with Windows XP Home SP2

  GeoffChorley 11:42 15 Apr 2005

I am trying to make a backup copy my C: drive on a recently installed second hard drive. I have installed NTBackup from the XP Home installation CD and run the Backup wizard. I get the following error message:

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:80042301
Aborting Backup.

Any suggestions??

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried the following but they have not resolved the problem.

1) I have an NTFS volume, and have tried the steps listed below:

Open Regedt32.exe and navigate to the following key:

I could not find "UpgradeInProgress" to change value to 0.

2) The COM+ Event System service is disabled. I cannot start it - get error 126, specified module could not be found.

3) Am unable to run "REG.EXE QUERY

4)I have set both COM+ services, and the 'volume-shadow-copy' to AUTOMATIC but they are not enabled.
