Hi all, trying to do a back up clone to an external HDD using Macrium Reflect which has been fine in the past when I got this odd message "Clone failed, Write failed-2-Broken pipe" Not something that I have seen before nor do I understand what it means. Can anyone explain what the problem is please.

One of the reasons I image instead of cloning.

bad sector on the drive can cause it as the write sequence times out. Are you trying to clone from a SSD?

Try running a CHKDSK on the external drive, click here.

chkdsk shows no bad sectors. I am trying to clone from SSD.

thanks for the advice, I changed the USB cable and it cloned OK in about 20mins. Why do they have to talk in the "Tongue" why noy say something like check the cable rather than "Broken pipe" FFS, I dont have water cooling:-))
