Hi,

I currently have a dual boot with vista 64 and XP (32) each on a seperate HDD

I want to back up the data from these 2 HDD's/systems.

I am not so good with comps so if you could be patient with me.

I want to know which software is easiest and best and compatible for doing this and any other things I may also need (eg, external HDD)??

Can anyone offer some detailed advice specific to my situation.

Many thanks in advance

So, is this compatible with vista 64?

and how will this work with regards my dual boot?

Also, will I need an external HDD or is it advisable?

Thanks

I have read about half a dozen of reviews and everyone says it is crap with vista.

So I guess that answers my first question...

is this compatible with vista 64?

What now? Some reviews I've read suggest norton ghost v12. Is this any good? I am very reluctant for this product as I had norton internet security and I hated how slow it mademy system.

Again is this Vista 64 compatible?

How will this work regarding my dual boot?

and, will I need an external HDD?

Thanks for looking

Your advice is much appreciated

and works with my daul boot 64 & 32 bit system perfectly, what I did was putting the 64 bit image in the 32 bit drive, and 32 bit image in the 64 bit drive.
The external drive is an excellent idea if you can afford it and prefer extra space.

Pleae do not use capitals as it is to equivilent to shouting.

I suggest you contact the companies via their web pages and ask them directly.

Personally I use Nero 7 for my 32 bit system and it works perfectly, I do not know about 64 bit backup.

Acronis true image 11 is by far the best option, however you seemed to have made your own mind up. yes to all your original questions; but the choice is yours

My way is Acronis but you make your choice. I just use it for creating Images so it will work on all if you have a External Drive to copy Images to. Or create Image to other Partition, then copy to Ex drive.

PS I created a Rescue Boot CD with Acronis so I can get to load a Image even if PC does not boot because of windows or Virus
