AVG update gives boot error

I'm still using AVG 2014 Free on XP. The latest update gives a Machine Creator error and opens the 'My Documents ' folder on booting. Going back to an image created prior to the update removes this behaviour. Updating AVG from that 'good' image immediately gives the Machine Creator error.

I can't find any recent reference to this behaviour on Google.

Try Clamwin anti virus instead for XP, it is working fine for me. I found AVG got a bit to big and resource hungry on my old laptop.
