Why are the last two downloads only 21KB?

Paul.

because thery are additional info to be added to the database, rather than replacing the database.

With the program update of September 8, AVG 6.0 now supports smaller update files! AVG 6.0 customers will benefit because of the quicker distribution and download times of the new updates. In order to take advantage of the smaller update files, your system must be on version AVG 6.0.516 or higher.

Thanks Jester2K II. There's a moral there, perhaps I should read the AVG home page occasionally :-)

Many thanks.

ahhhh... Small file puzzled me too, thanks.

This feature was avaliable in AVG 7 ages ago though? I understand that paying customers should get better support, but surely it would have benefitted Grisoft when Blaster came out to have small files for everything. I'm not complaining, just wondered if there's any other reason behind it.

Got it! from the home page. The update link from the prog said 'up to date' even tho' it was version 516?

Yes it was in the AVG 7 Beta i tested. Still running AVG 6 now though.

I suspect there might have been a few niggles to get out of the way. Also it wasn't just the free customers who had to wait - it was the same for ALL versions (paid and free) of AVG 6.

I guess they had to wait whilst testing it and then a point to implement it. Glad its here.
