AVG - Strange Occurance

I run AVG free and after the last three updates AVG has asked me to restart my computer for the updates to take effect. A friends PC has not asked for this. All seems fine after the reboot and the update has taken effect.

Can anyone explain?

Same here except it doesn't ask to shut down- icon greys and everything OK at next bootup.

Do you run different versions of Windows? And do you run the email extension too?

No I run XP, and don't run anything additional.

I think splork meant do you and your friend use different versions of Windows.

Of course, my apologies to splork. I use XPPro and he uses XPHome.
