After start up my wife's PC has a Windows security alert pop up saying that AVG is turned off. She knows that it isn't and she has asked advice from AVG's forum to correct the problem and taken their advice but the message still keeps popping up. Looking at the AVG forum there are others having the same problem. Can anyone advise??
Many thanks.

To remove the warning go to.Control panel.Security Center.Change the way security center alerts me on the left hand side. And untick Virus protection.Ok.

does windows security recognize that avg is on after a few seconds or does it say that avg is turned off all the time?

I find that it's wanting to upgrade either the product or the AV database.

Fire up the Control Centre and select Update. Providing you're connected to the internet it may bring a new version through or just a definitions file update.
