AVG reports Trojan Horse IRC/Backdoor virus

During a session on the internet my daughter picked up two viruses which were spotted and cleaned by AVG.

Subsequently however AVG Resident Shield reports the presence of virus 'Trojan horse IRC/Backdoor.SdBot.JX' in file C: System Volume Information\_restore..........

It asks me to run AVG to remove the virus but doing so detects no viruses.

Help! Will deleting a system restore point help?

Switch off SR, reboot, Switch SR on.

It trapped in SR. AVG can detect it but not remove it.

this is a really good trojan detector and removal tool, and it has a full functionality for a limited time period.

System restore will not remove the trojan.

also why not try mcafee, they offer a free online virus check, just need to set up an account, also free

hope that helps and merry christmas

Neither of Spruces programs will work as they can't access files in SR either.
