two questions
1. does it significantly slow browsing down?
2. I've heard it can conflict with zone alarm pro
advice please.

Link scanner has always been active on my PC and makes no difference to performance at all..

XP Home SP3 Firefox...

also use Zonealarm...

If it is the new Link scanner that comes separate there have been a lot of problems reported with it.Maybe better giving it a miss.

It belongs to AVG but why download it as a standalone prog when it is already a part of 8.5 A/V..

If you don't use AVG and want to run the standalone version then try it out. For me it played havoc with my browsers so ditched it. Pity as the old version worked well.

I found that it took a noticeable amount of time to update the info (in Google search results), whereas SiteAdvisor is almost instantaneous. I realise that Link Scanner is more "sophisticated" though.
