AVG internal virus database out of date

  Les T 12:05 15 Jun 2007

Hi folks, have just logged on and the AVG square in the taskbar is blacked and it says the internal virus database is out of date; it also says to update (when i try it says i have the most up to date database).

Should i uninstall AVG and then re-install?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that sounds like your best option, something has become corrupt in the AVG file system.

Yeah, i thought that would be the best option. Thanks for the back up.

Make sure your pc clock is on todays date. Sometimes you need to reboot to install the updates.

Agree with Crunchy, make sure your clock is set on the correct date, has happened to me more than once

avg 7.5 version as of today I have just updated

you should have

internal data base version 269.8.17/850

released 15/06/2007
do you have that?

and as they have asked, is your computer clock correct?

  Les T 16:10 15 Jun 2007

Thanks folks, my clock was set to the 15th of July. Have since reset it and AVG has updated with no problems.

Thanks again.

a wrong clock does cause all KINDS of problems dont it::)))

are you nice and all in colour icon now???

  Les T 16:13 15 Jun 2007

I sure am, any ideas as to why the clock can go funny?

Clock problem may mean your mother board back-up battery needs replaced. Faulty battery can cause BIOS settings to go to default

you might wish to keep an eye ON the clock to see what time/day/date it says when you next boot up?
