How do I know how much ram is in my laptop when I buy a new one. EG My old one said 2GIGS on the box, that's why I bought it but when I ran a scan on it the scan only shows 2048, so how will I know just by looking at the box, and what is a "decent" amount of RAM to have if I want to run photoshop CS2 as well as the Internet and word all at the same time.....Thanks

2084Mb is 2Gb.

Ooops - 2048Mb is 2Gb

Generally as far as RAM is concerned - More is better ... but, some laptops can only take up to 2Gb.

If you provide the manufacturer and model details of the laptop, then someone will provide the information to the maximum ram you can install.

Would also suggest that you open a new post, when you want to ask another question. Earlier posting dates and other issues might not bring responses for a new subject.
