AVG - are updates redundant after installation

  Housten 16:27 07 Sep 2003

I have been using AVG 6 Free for some time and have 50Mb of download updates - which seem to get bigger every week!
I have tried emailing ( twice ) to ask if after download been used I can delete, but got no response. Anybody know whether or not it is safe to delete these updates.

Keep the latest one, the others can be safely deleted.

You will get no support from AVG if your using the free version only AVG Pro gets support. Can't help you on the other point as i have never uninstalled updates.

Peverelli is right but don't delete the control file as well - it'll be the first one.

The "control" file is the .ctf file, always keep it and the last update file you received, delete the rest.

As above, I have safely deleted all mine, have been doing over the past two years. save quite a bit of space. j.

Sorry, should've been clearer. I meant the update files (.bin) of course. :O)
