showing all blacked out at bottom of screen

so i update and its says no update available

also showing database out of date

anyone have any ideas what this could be

May have been a bad install,Try Deleting it, Run C Cleaner, Then reinstall it,

Is this the AVG anti virus or the AVG anti spyware.
There is a known issue with the anti virus that affects a few computers if you install 7.5 over the top of version 7.1. Basically it doesn't autoprotect you. Solution is to delete AVG fully and reinstall rather than install over the top.

If its the antispyware quite a few of us have been having differculty in that it switches itself off. It also is a known fault and at the moment there is no solution to it as AVG have been unable to work out precisely what causes it.

yes its the anti virus sorry

my sis had the 7.1 ,that 2 was showing the blacked avg icon at bottom of screen

and yes i downloaded version 7.5 over 7.1

Download to the desktop and run. After it finishes removing the old version reboot and run the file afresh.

i will be doing this tomorrow morning as i am not at my sis house now,will leave it unresolved untill i have sorted it out on her pc
