Avast No Longer Free

Has anyone noticed that Avast Home Edition is no longer free, unless I am missing something.

I have just upgraded to Vista and Avast is bringing up an error message. It appears to be working but there is an error with the GUI, since the latest update, so it cannot display anything. When I went to the site to download a new version it now costs £27 for three years.

Probably very good value for one of the best AVs but a bit sneaky as well.

Any comments?

Axel

I have just this evening downloaded it and it said is was free. It does require a registration, this number they send you covers you for 14 months then they will reregister the program

You have to make sure that, when you register the Home version, that you tick the box stating it is for personal use.

Otherwise you won't get an e-mail with the registration code....:-)
