Avast found C:\WINDOWS\Sti_Trace.log

Avast said this file might be a threat,I had the option of ignoring or deleting the file, but not moving it to quarantine so I just clicked OK. I scanned the WINDOWS folder with Avast and no threat was found.

What should I do now?

Sti_Trace.log is a system file, so I would suspect it was a false positive from Avast.

Still Image Monitor scanner
software/interface with Windows.

Will always be open and usually (if no scanning) 0 bytes

tell Avast to ignore it.

Yesterday Avast flagged up the file cmiplay3d.exe as a threat. It's part of the cmedia sound files and has been on my computer for ages. I thought it would be a false positive so set Avast to exclude it in scanning. Sure enough today, finding the file manually and scanning it again Avast has not flagged it as malware. At least Avast is on the ball with dealing with false positives eh?
