Avast AV

For many years I’ve paid, like a fool, for Norton AV.

Last night I finally took the plunge, uninstalled Norton and installed Avast AV.

I think I’ve now got the hang of the various settings in Avast except one.

When I booted up the PC this morning Avast immediately started a scan. I stopped the scan by hitting Escape.

Can anybody tell me where the setting is to DISABLE the scan at boot up??

Any other tips and tricks for using Avast??

option during installation for a boot scan.
You shouldn't get the scan during bootup anymore, as it is a one-off

The boot scan usually only starts if specifically selected using Menu/Schedule Boot-Time Scan, or if it found something during a normal scan that was being protected. As mattyc_92 says it's not a default setting and shouldn't repeat.
