Automatic Update Stuck In Loop

  dogbreath1 09:27 21 Dec 2007

A recent cumulative update for IE7 & XP is waiting for install at every boot. I opt for express install and it appears to do so.

On the restart, the update is again in the system tray asking to be installed.

The update id is KB942615.

Any ideas, please?

I would delete it and then do a re-start.

Hi.This is the bad up-date from Microsoft that has been affecting a lot of computers.I would turn Automatic up-dates off. Then run the up-dates manually. And when you see that one,Just click the square not to show it again.I would wait till Microsoft does a repair for it before attempting to download it again.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try buteman's manual approach first. Tbh, I'd already run Dial-A-Fix but to no avail.

Will post back with the results.
