auto-shutdown of DELL XPS laptop

my dell xps laptop is being shutdown automatically. It does not start when i switch on immediately,it takes some usually 1 hr to start. I even checked if there is over heating but there is none. It happend over a year back, but now again it started to hound.
so please tell what exactly is the problem ?? and what is the solution??

yeah heating i just checked by hand i mean in layman terms.... jst i removed cap and cleaned the fan and sink but i found still the fan is not running ... y is that so ?

If then fan doesn't run it will overheat quickly and shutdown.

Check fan connections, change fan if it will not work.
